Many cities and towns across Montana have "Tree Boards". These citizen groups are vital to the health of trees within their communities. Below you will find the many reasons why it is important to support these organizations .

The primary responsibility of the Tree Board is to make policy recommendations concerning the management of trees located on city-owned public property and in city rights-of-way. The role of the Board does not extend to guidance regarding individual trees although that responsibility varies from city to city.
Many Montana cities have tree organizations or local government entities that fill the shoes of a tree board committee.
